Private Maids: The base game and Expanding the House provide Private Maids. This means currency strategy is significantly more complex than in Dominion. All of the currencies in Tanto Cuore are +1 cost (no free copper!) compared to their Dominion counterparts, and the currencies are VERY limited (the 3 Love card, equal to the Gold card in Dominion, only has EIGHT cards available in any given game). Here's a rundown of the core differences between Dominion and Tanto Cuore:Įconomy: Tanto Cuore's economic game is drastically different. The first two expansions are Expanding the House and Romantic Vacation. There are currently 3 sets, though a fourth is in print and should be available very soon. While the two games play very similarly on the surface, I feel that Tanto Cuore has significantly more depth. Many people refer to Tanto Cuore as a retheme of Dominion. I play both Tanto Cuore and Dominion quite regularly. I don't play either of them anymore, but i got maybe 300 plays of dominion before i was completely burned out on it, and maybe 40 plays of tanto cuore, although I think that is mostly because I was already burnt out of dominion when I even started playing tanto cuore. That whole last paragraph also applies to tanto cuore by the way, since the mechanics are actually very similar between them. But once you learn to counter other stratigies and branch off a little bit you'll realize there is actually a lot more to the game. There are a few beginner strategies that work very well and will seem like you've figured the game out (smithy big money, village engine, etc). If dominion feels "figured out" after 10 plays, I can 100% promise you that you don't actually have it figured out. You don't use all the cards at once, so you'll have to adapt your strategy each game.Īlso about your last point regarding dominion. There is a decent amount of replayability out of the box. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
